At the end of 1993, Video Rails released a sequel to Cajon Pass from 1987. In my opinion, the original video on Cajon was better than Cajon II. The original Cajon Pass had an historic film segment on the construction of SP's West Colton Yard; however, there are no such films on the new Cajon. Nevertheless, this new edition is just as great. Since 1987, Santa Fe and Union Pacific had taken delivery of widecab locomotives. Santa Fe had also reintroduced its famous Warbonnet scheme. Southern Pacific had taken over Rio Grande in 1988, and examples of speed-lettered SP locomotives are shown. Cajon II is 30 minutes longer than the original, with footage to Victorville and a cab ride on SP's Palmdale Cutoff taking up much of that half-hour. Also, a few wintry scenes add another dimension to this famous pass. One year later, in 1994, Video Rails released the full length of the cab ride shown in Cajon II. This 60-mintue program takes place on SP's route over the pass. Not much narration is on this cab ride program, but it it still exciting to watch. This 150-minute combo DVD is yet another great version of a favorite hotspot. I recommend it highly to railfans everywhere.

Treats the subject of Cajon Pass with great detail-shows many different aspects of the area & the narration is very informative. The cab ride is very interesting with enough variety of angles so it is not boring to watch.A good one.
