Cab rides on Montana Rail Link and the Arizona & California regional railroads. Montana Rail Link carries BNSF trackage rights trains from the midwest to the Pacific northwest. You'll ride a westbound intermodal train from Helena, Montana to Garrison, then an eastbound manifest back to Helena. You'll then ride an Arizona & California RR manifest from Parker, Arizona to the BNSF interchange at Cadiz, California, on BNSF's transcontinental main line, and back to Parker. This is not a straight ahead view, you'll see and hear the crew, and views of the train from various locations on the power.

Given the filming date the quality of the production was excellent. Good content, plus the locomotive crew were informative and an important part of the production which added to the enjoyment of this dvd. It is a pity that some "modern" productions do not follow this format and are content with a "lockdown" camera and very little else.

Cab rides.... you either really like them, or you just can never get your interest into them. Here, we see 2 different regional railroads with cab rides for us. But it is not a straight ahead view as there are camera angles used. And there is the in cab chat to hear on the video, which is quite interesting. The MRL is more scenic, but both locations are very good to see. Well done.
