The Kosin collection features super 8mm railroad films photographed by the late George Naugle of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

The collection highlights the Anthracite Railroads over the mountains, into the Wyoming Valley and beyond in the last few years of operation and into the beginning of Conrail. Many rare Wyoming Valley locations are captured in the Ashley and Wilkes-Barre areas.

Volume 1 covers action just north of White Haven through the Wyoming Valley, with scenes in Sayre, PA

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME SCENES IN THE COLLECTION ARE PARTIALLY OUT OF FOCUS, BUT WERE INCLUDED FOR THEIR RARE HISTORICAL CONTENT

This dvd features LV and D&H action Wyoming Valley area of PA. Footage was shot in the early '70's through 1975. As noted in the description, the videography in certain spots is a bit rough (i.e. out of focus - seemingly due to zooming in too tight in most cases), however the duration was short, and was certainly not enough to make the dvd unwatchable imo. And surprisingly, much of the footage is very clear, stable, with amazing color-clarity; close to today's standards. Footage includes great shots of the LV struggling with heavy freights in many rare locations of the Wyoming Valley. Attention is focused not only on motive power, but vintage rolling stock, as well, which I enjoy. Interesting, informative, and entertaining narration is provided by Mike Bednar. Overall, a nice collection of rare-footage, and is recommended to any fan of fallen-flag railroading, or the Lehigh Valley railroad.

Additional remarks by Curt Cruthirds:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it.
Image quality: A little rough around the edges.
DVD Value:: Fair.
Recommend to others? Yes.
