C. Vision Productions takes you back to the 1950's to view classic train movements in Iowa and the Mississippi River Valley in Wisconsin in Corn Belt Railroads in the 1950's! From the films of George Niles, we will view steam and early diesel operations on the Rock Island in and around Des Moines, Iowa. Then we view the Milwaukee Road as they move passenger and freight with both steam and diesel. We also get a chance to see very rare footage of the Milwaukee's gas car passenger route between Des Moines and Spirit Lake, Iowa. Then it is off to the Mississippi River town of LaCrosse, Wisconsin where we capture both Milwaukee Road and Chicago Burlington and Quincy action at Grand Crossing. Heading back to Iowa, we get a glimpse of the Chicago Great Western. Then we end the show with some brick and tile quarry operations in Redfield.

Overall a good video featuring a period of railroading I particularly like. A little more deive narration might have enhanced the video. The music is a must. Watching the video without the music leaves too much silence between the narrative. The music itself is good but it can be a little too soothing. Perhaps some active classical stuff would be better. I would recommend this video to anybody interested in the the steam/diesel transition era.

Additional remarks by John:
Narration: Could have used more.
Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it.
Image quality: Excellent!
DVD Value: Good Value
Recommend to others? Yes.

Much better quality film than the Rock Island Mid-Continent Route DVD. I'm so glad someone took some quality video of the Rock Island with obviously decent equipment and preserved it.

Additional remarks by RK:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value:: Fair.
Recommend to others? Yes.
