This video definitely covers the Santa Fe from Chicago to LA. Sometimes the music was a bit much but was interesting in spots. Sounded like the western music of Aaron Copland. There was one glaring error in the narration and it seemed to display child like geographical knowledge, very surprising from a video producer that is one of the more accurate in detail provided. At Dalies Jct in New Mexico which is a good 300 miles from Flagstaff, the narrator notes that the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff can be seen, and they look like you can almost touch them. He must have telescopic vision like Superman to able to see that far.

Additional remarks by rrvideojunkie:
Narration: Way too much!
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value: Good Value
Recommend to others? Not unless they REALLY were interested in the subject matter.

Its hard to believe roads like the Santa Fe are gone but this DVD takes you back to the early and mid 1990s when the great red and silver EMDs & GEs were tearing up the rails. Great photography and good narration this DVD will leave any ATSF fan wanting more. A++++++

The Santa Fe will be forever remembered as one of the great railroads of America. This video is a very fine presentation of some of the great locations between Chicago Illinios and Los Angeles California that the Santa Fe passed through. We follow along, with the guide of limited detail maps, and some narration as the line progress's along from the big cities, through open farm lands of Illinois, Kansas and many other locations. The scenery changes to rough and rolling, passing throughout towns and smaller cities, eventually crossing the mountains and down to Los Angeles. This video is very interesting from a scenic point of view, because unlike videos where we only see one location, or a short distance, we are treated to the wide differences across the USA. The power is predominate Santa Fe, but a few other companies are seen. Amtrak and Metra also makes appearances. Occasionally, there is some musical accompliment instead of narration, but not a great deal. Rated 4 out of 5, but would likely rate it a 9 if the ratings were out of 10. I was very impressed overall with the presentation, but did question how much the kids would enjoy it. Definitely recommended.
