This video does a fine job of showing SP in it's final years. You'll see everything from tunnel motors to new (at the time) AC4400CWs on some of the SP's most well known lines.
Additional comments:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
Value: Good value.
Recommend? Definitely.

If your an SP fan like me, then you'll probably enjoy this video. It's mainly a UP/SP transitional era video. It's not total dyed in the wool SP, as there are a lot of UP merger scenes with lots of yellow units mixed in, plus you'll see stuff that has been retired or repainted. Also, there are still some really spectacular segments of this video. One that comes to mind is the "BKDO-U the oil cans" great scenes of a spectacular train that once ran regularly over the Tehachapi Mtns. If you're into second generation SP Diesels like I am, then this video is for you. In a world filled with es44ac gevo/sd70ace tier 3 compliant boring locomotives, this is a refreshing look back....
Additional comments:
Narration: A little too much.
Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it.
Image quality: Good.
Value: Seemed a little high.
Recommend? Only if really interested.

Do you miss the old scarlet & gray? How about tunnel motors? Six axle lash-ups? Thundering EMD's? Well then...this DVD is for you. While I think some of this footage is from former videos, I still really enjoyed seeing my favorite RR...the old SP! When you view this, don't forget to turn "ON" the narration to hear Peter's colorful comments.
