Operating on former Southern Pacific and Western Pacific lines between Stockton and San Jose, California, the Altamont Commuter Express carries over 1,400 riders to and from work each day. Join us for a tour through scenic Altamont Pass, wooded Niles Canyon, the marshlands near Alviso, and more!

Every ACE station is included! Filmed in late 2005 and early 2006, this video also includes vintage photos of some of the locations ACE serves and a thoroughly researched historical narrative.

More than just a commute rail video, this action-packed production also includes footage of UP, BNSF, Amtrak California, California Northern, the Niles Canyon Railway, Caltrain, and Santa Clara County's VTA light rail!

While this 2006 program was the second TSG multimedia dvd ever made, my version/copy is the 2007/2008 reprint because of the SP 2472 in Niles canyon trailer and the steam fest 2007 trailer. While the case says its only 110 minutes, the main program is only 96 minutes, the Niles canyon railway segment is only 2 and a half minutes short, and the Aces to the As baseball special is only 12 minutes long. Overall if you love present 21st century diesels, this is a great program to enjoy again and again
