Exciting UP 4014 Steam Action & Modern UP Freight Trains!
Union Pacific Railroad Volume One is loaded with exciting UP train action in the scenic state of Wisconsin. The show begins with Union Pacific 4014, a 4-8-8-4 Big Boy, that's seen pulling a 15 car passenger excursion across the Badger State. The Big Boy was on a five state tour across the Midwest during its 2019 inaugural season. Then it's onto Union Pacific freight action including: Winona Local Job LT41 which operates out of Adams and sometimes uses a caboose. Hot Spot Necedah Jct and the Loop Track that connects the UP onto the CN's Valley Sub. UP road freights that travel from the Adams Yard to Altoona. An Operation Life Saver passenger train that ran out of Altoona and featured a UP Heritage unit "C&NW 1995". UP Job 83, a local/transfer, that runs big trains of frac sand and freight. This job is based out of the Altoona Yard and travels north over the UP's Chippewa Falls branch to the Norma Yard and to a connection with the Wisconsin Northern Railroad. Altoona Local Job 81 & 82 that works on the Altoona Sub-Division around Eau Claire and Menomonie and is often powered with GP60s. Diesel power on this program consists of UP's large roster of Big GEs & EMDs along with older standard cab GPs & SDs. Rail footage era is 2012-2019.

In Volume 1 of the Plets Express Union Pacific Series, there are not only scenes of the newly restored Big Boy 4014 during its second tour of the final year of the 2010s decade in July & August of 2019, but also lots & lots of diesels with unusual surprises like Patched Cotton Belt, Rio Grande, & Southern Pacific Units, other road names like Canadian Pacific, Canadian National, Norfolk Southern, BNSF, CSX, Wisconsin Northern, CEFX, GMTX, GATX, & HLCX, Heritage Unit 1995, & even cabooses on freights at locations like Lake Elmo Minnesota, Roberts Wisconsin, Baldwin, the Eau Claire River Bridge in Altoona (Not Pennsylvania), Fall Creek, Merrillan depot while crossing the Canadian National Diamond, Millston, Warrens, Wyeville, Adams at Milepost 202 (referenced to a surviving Western Maryland 4-6-2 on display), Friesland, Clyman Junction with a coaling tower built in 1945, Necedah, Winona on the Valley Subdivision, Shennington, Tomah, Tunnel City, Sprague, the Ocean Spray Cranberry Plant at Babcock, Wick, Humbird at Milepost 126, Eau Claire, Crossing the Chippewa River Bridge at Chippewa Falls, the Brick Built Banbury Place Factory, Yucan Junction, Hallie, Norma Yard, McDunahue Park, Dell's Pond, & Menomonie. Take note that some of Brad's footages of 4014 was also used in Steam Smoke & Thunder Volume 1 from 2023. Not only that, but other producers were also on the Big Boy's Summer in the Midwest Tour: C. Vision Productions, Steve Mitchell of Yard Goat Images, James Parfrey of Steam Train Videos, Harold Holmes, & Trains Magazine. There is one goof however while 4014 is in Altoona: Brad says that the Big Boys are 2-8-8-4s when he should've meant 4-8-8-4s, while later on at Friesland, Brad said that Challenger 3985 was converted to oil in the 80s, when he should've meant 1990.
