The 1991 NRHS convention at Huntington, West Virginia is known for its big steam show. Here's the best of the big steam. First we see N&W 2-6-6-4 #1218 runs Kenova to Portsmouth. Then it's PM 2-8-4 #1225 and NKP 2-8-4 #765 running side-by-side on double track from Huntington to St. Albans - and back. The next day it's a doubleheader, from Huntington to Hinton on the "New River" train.
There's a lot of main line action! As a bonus, we see former C&O 2-8-4 #2716 running from Alexandria to Charlottesville in 1982, with a ride in the cab. Color, Stereo Sound. No narration. |
