The Legendary Canadian on DVD by Rail Innovations

"The Legendary Canadian" features three programs spanning over 45 years of the trains history. "The New Budd Train" shows "The Canadian" being tested behind Reading F units in the Philadelphia area. Next, CPR's own 1955 publicity film introduces the "The Canadian". Well be aboard the train as well as trackside for some spectacular 1955 scenes as it travels west to Vancouver. Finally, "Working No. 1" gives a behind the scenes look at the people and efforts necessary to keep todays VIA "Canadian", First Class. You'll be at the shops, in the station, trackside and onboard, prior to and during much of No. 1's first leg from Toronto to Capreol.

Another fine Rail innovatios Production. A 3 in 1 Combo, entirely about the World Famous "Canadian". Start with scenes from the 1950's when under the CPR banner, the Canadian travels from Montreal and Toronto to Vancouver. There is no train ride in the world like it. See the service, the glorious beauty of the north Lake Superior region, on across the Canadian Prairies, and into the Rocky Mountains, ending in Vancouver. See Toronto's Royal York Hotel when it was the tallest structure in downtown. Jump ahead to the late 1990's, and the Canadian under the VIA banner. See the working operations of the train crew as VIA #1 makes it's way north to Parry Sound Ontario. At 19 cars long it is short by the length it is today at over 26 cars long. Every part is covered from Union Station to meets along the way. End with a segment as we go back in time to when the cars fist depart their manufacture in Pennsylvania. See the celebrations along the way from ground and air as the Canadian makes it's maiden voyage. You'll love every minute of this exciting video presentation. The greatest passenger train in the World -- "The Canadian". (And yes, I have travelled it from Toronto to the Prairie Provinces. It's every bit as exciting when on board). A must for every rail fan collection.
