Split into two shows on two discs, Pentrex takes you on a fascinating journey of railroading operations in Houston and its surrounding areas. The first show, shot in the early 2000's, captures Houston's diverse scenery, great railfanning hotspots, and the typical locomotives commonly found during this period. The second show, shot in the spring of 2014, revisits this favorite railfan area with new, exciting footage.

Well......I thought I'd give Pentrex another chance. They struck out!!! The problem I have is their equipment must be out to date or something. While the foreground & background is in focus, the moving train is blurry...really blurry. Before anyone responds about my tv......I have a Sony top of the line w/ 240 refresh. And I have NO PROBLEM with any other RR video productions. I do, however, really enjoy the quality & amount of narration. Without that fact, it would ONE star.

Im the one who shot all this footage. This includes the older video which was recorded on Digital 8. Rest-assured, the newer footage was shot on state-of-the-art HD equipment that is still under warranty. Not sure about whats causing the blurriness as Ive completely inspected my video and everything looks sharp as a tack. Might be something that occurred in the downconverting process. Otherwise, Im recording in full 1920 x 1080.

Foamerone: though you shoot in HD, the DVDs from Pentrex are in standard definition - so any advantage of HD gear (whether under warranty or not - as if that mattered) is irrelevant, and frankly, wasted, Now if Pentrex would ship BluRay DVDs, then your argument might be valid.

The reference to the equipment being under warranty was in response to the original poster who was claiming we were using outdated equipment. Being under warranty gives an idea of just how new it is.
You and I both wish Pentrex would release more shows on BluRay. Right now, we only have one.
