Enjoy comprehensive coverage of the restoration of Canadian Pacific 4-6-4 Hudson number 2816 in this 2001 video. Rail Innovations was the official video company for Canadian Pacific during this time. There are two videos here. Part 1 covers the restoration in Vancouver and has insights from Al Broadfoot who spearheaded the rebuilding. You will see all aspects of the teardown and rebuilding, including the hydro test, boiler and smokebox removal, and frame work. See the drive wheels being removed, trued and then reinstalled. Be there when the overhauled boiler is lowered to the frame and a new cab is installed and the finishing touches are applied.

The second half of the show after the light-up is the testing with several runs are made on the CPR mainline. In this section you will see shots trackside views, onboard, and in the cab of one test run.
