Memories of the CNJ, B&O and RDG Volume 3

This fine program presents scenes of the Central Railroad of New Jersey from the late 1930s through the late 1960s. Trains of the Baltimore & Ohio and Reading Company, which ran into New Jersey via trackage rights, are also seen.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: Camelback 4-6-0 772 in action on the Sea Bright Highlands line; more Jersey Central steam action featuring the handsome 800-Class 4-6-2s; 0-8-0s on the main line; steam action with 4-6-2s at Allentown; Jersey Central Terminal with Fairbanks-Morse diesels, B&O's Royal Blue passenger train; RDCs; and turntable scenes at Communipaw Engine Terminal.

Other scenes include action on the Jersey Central main line near Bound Brook featuring EMD, Alco, and Baldwin diesels; freight action in western New Jersey at such locations as Lebanon and High Bridge; and CNJ trains in southern New Jersey filmed at Winslow Jct., Vineland, and Bridgeton.

READING COMPANY SCRAPBOOK VOL. 3

VOLUME III of the READING COMPANY SCRAPBOOK series features additional action on the highly scenic Wilmington and Northern line, along with additional sequences taken at Allentown yard. This program consists of high-quality color Super 8mm film taken by the late William Ashley Cooper, a railfan photographer and filmmaker from Allentown, PA.

Continuing from Volume II, there are additional scenes of road jobs operating over the entire line between Birdsboro, PA and Wilmington, DE, and coal trains which served the enormous Grace Mine at Joanna. This volume depicts trains pulled by 3 or 4 classic Alco RS-3 diesels, along with other trains featuring GP30/35 lashups and the brand-new GP40-2s.

As in volume II, you will view the trains at many scenic locations are shown, including Birdsboro, Geigertown, Trap Rock, Joanna, Elverson, and Coatesville.
