A "Head End" ride on an Amtrak SPV 2000 Budd unit from New Haven, CT to Springfield, MA over the former N.Y.,N.H. R. H. R.R. Springfield inland route. Lots of action as you pass over 40 road crossings, through the picturesque countryside. Other Amtrak and Conrail trains are viewed along the way. Narration relating to cities, towns, sidings, speed and other points of interest as well as radio transmissions of train crews, block operators and train dispatchers highlights the entire trip.
