Review of A Day on the Laurinburg & Southern DVD

 5 of 5 (1)
A Day on the Laurinburg & Southern

The Laurinburg & Southern RR was chartered in North Carolina in the early 20th century. They operate about 28 miles of track between Laurinburg and Raeford and Laurinburg and John's. Interchange is with CSX on former Atlantic Coast Line rails in Laurinburg, and with the Aberdeen & Rockfish in Raeford. The little road is very busy. It's major customers are a plate glass factory and a feed elevator that serves the local turkey and hog business. At the time Chester Kamuda filmed the LRS, they operated three EMD switchers, including two SW-1's. Chester was invited into the cab.
