Review of Arkansas Alcos DVD

 5 of 5 (2)
The Arkansas and Missouri Railroad operates on former Frisco trackage from Monet, Missouri to Fort Smith, Arkansas. The primary focus of our video is the run from Springdale, the company headquarters, to Fort Smith. These long haul runs usually require 3 or 4 unit Alcos to power the trains through the Arkansas countryside. We chase two trains southbound and one northbound on a different day. A trio of C-420's powers one train, and the second one is 3 C-420's and the only operational RS-32. We also see local operations which include the Bentonville local with a C-420, and a switching job local with a former N&W T-6 which is pretty smoky. The railroad also ran their flagship RS-1 for some publicity runs which included an over and under series of shots with the RS-1 going under a freight near Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is an interesting show of Alco power in the hills of Arkansas for all to enjoy!
