Review of Chicago Steam Celebration 1993 NRHS Convention DVD

 4 of 5 (1)
Big steam power, vintage diesels, classic interurbans, and Chicago's finest commuter railroads fill the screen in this two-hour presentation featuring the 1993 NRHS Convention in the Windy City. Famous locomotives traveled great distances to treat convention goers to thrilling excursions and tours of historic locales. Pentrex was on the spot as the event's official videographer, capturing all the activities for your enjoyment.

Metra F-Units opened the convention by powering a commuter train toward the Illinois Railway Museum. There you'll see an operating Electro-Liner, a Frisco Ten-Wheeler, the Nebraska Zephyr, and other exotic equipment. Additional outings included special trains on CTA's elevated lines through downtown Chicago and on the renowned South Shore's interurban to South Bend, Indiana. Union Pacific Challenger 3985 powered a round trip to Findlay Junction, Illinois. You'll get to ride aboard the 3985's train and also enjoy great shots of it from trackside. Ex-Nickel
