Climb aboard the Whitewater Valley Railroad for a 17 mile ride 150 years back in time! The Whitewater Valley, operating between Connersville, IN and Metamora IN, is a former New York Central branchline built on the towpath of an old canal. During the 70 minute train trip, you will go from the floodplains of the West Branch of the Whitewater River to the rolling countryside near Metamora, a small town which has been maintained in the traditions of an 1850's canal town. At Metamora, a working grist mill, restored canal lock, gift shops, restaurants and an operating horse-drawn canal boat await your arrival. And, along the ride there, you will see the remains of the old canal and locks, as well as scenic views hidden from the routes nearby highways.
