12 hours a day, 6+ days a week for 3 months, Union Pacific and a team of skilled contractors made history by rebuilding two Jordan Spreaders, the SPMW 4031 and 4032.

Today, Spreader Snow Plows are the workhorse and backbone for keeping the rails clear of snow and ice during Winter months for the new high-priority double stack trains crossing Donner Pass.

Since originally built in the 1960's, the Jordan Spreaders have basically been unchanged. In September 2009, the team undertook the monumental task of completely rebuilding the MEGA machines - before Winter sets in.

Like a reality tv show, witness the drama and difficulties incurred along the way. The 4031 and 4032 were completed and deployed on the first day of the "storm of the decade" in 2010. In the end, the dedicated crew may have prevailed, but would it plow snow?

From scrap metal to a hand-crafted snow clearing masterpiece, along with with the many trials and tribulations, BA Productions is polishing off final edits for this reality-type documentary.

This is outstanding, from inside the Roseville shop complex over the pit watching them change out the wheels to striping the old spreaders and making mega spreaders from the bare bones to the finished product!!! 5 stars again !!! Excellent stuff !!! This is awesome watching all different people in their trades come together fighting deadlines to make an awesome pair of mega spreaders !!! It is good to see this type of production!! EXCELLENT TOP NOTCH STUFF !!! :-)

Great stuff! One of the best railroad videos I`ve ever saw! It´s a must have. Still waiting for part two. Hope´s coming available soon... Great battle against show in the US. Here in Germany we´ve some more problems with. I´m working in behalf of DB (Deutsche Bahn-German Railroads) nationwide at all kind of trains as a statistic guy.
