Railfanning with the Bednars Volume 10 follows Dave Augsburger, Big Mike and his pop, Joe Bednar as they head west to pursue other railroad employment opportunities for Mike

With the recession of 1982, Conrail began consolidating divisions and work force. There were few choices for railroad employees. Either relocate to where needed, or the possibility of being laid off. For some, the latter was the only choice offered. The other option was to seek employment elsewhere. Many did just that. They ventured west to find a job with other railroads

In volume 10 we follow Big Mike and crew out to Colorado and points in between to look for work on the western railroads.

As usual, Big Mike provides his well known brand of humor

Narrated with commentary by Mike Bednar. Color and original sound; approx 74 minutes

I was so happy to see an additional release in the "Railfanning With the Bednars" series, as these are a favorite of mine for great video of the fallen flags. Volume 10 was especially nice as the boys head west, and this dvd features great action of the Santa Fe, UP, D&RGW, along with a few lesser known roads, like KYLE and the Green Bay & Western. Filming includes areas of the Joint Line in CO (with extensive footage from the Palmer Lake area) and Cheyenne, WY., with a nice variety of power shown. As is typical for all dvd's in the Bednars series, the quality of the footage is top-notch, given it's age, and the narration is informative, yet entertaining. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this one!

Additional remarks by Curt Cruthirds:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value: Good Value
Recommend to others? Definitely.
