Kenova, West Virginia is one busy town when it comes to railroading. CSX Transportation's ex C&O mainline runs through here, hosting lots of coal trains along with mixed freight, grain trains and light power moves between yards at Huntington, West Virginia and Russell, Kentucky.

Crossing over the CSXT tracks, it's own secondary tracks, The Ohio River, and much of Kenova on a massive bridge is Norfolk Southern's Pocahontas Division mainline hosting numerous trains including coal, manifest, intermodal, grain, and automotive. Kenova also hosts a small yard which is base for numerous NS local jobs in the area. Power on both lines is quite varied.

Moving one town to the west we watch action at Catlettsburg, Kentucky. This is where CSXT's busy Big Sandy Subdivision meets with the main line, forming a triple track railroad until reaching the yards at Russell, Kentucky!

Intesting program, of an area, not produced, by any other Video company, Action is non stop and looks like this was shot around 1996. Highlites. would be action shots of old CSX B23-7's on locals , along with a pair of C30-7's on a grain train. NS C30-7's are seen twice in this program, many High Hood SD40-2's both ex. SR. and N&W Quality of camera work is very good, though not perfect.

Additional remarks by Charley Mann:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value: Good Value

This is a great video. It was shot during the early 90s so there is plenty of motive power variety. My personal favorite from this program is a CSX local with a Uboat in Family Lines paint, it sure sounded great! I wish Kenova was still as busy as it was then!
