Hot Spots... rail fan locations of interest, based on the producer's view point. This video is good for those who love passenger, commuter, and electrified rail operations. Considering other productions on the northeast corridor... this video just does not cut it. What is in the video is decent, but so much more was missed. The title is... "the NE Corridor" so it would have been nice if less time at the locations presented and far more locations included.

Additional remarks by rrvideoman:
Narration: Could have used more.
Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value: Seemed a little high, but not too bad.
Recommend to others? Not unless they REALLY were interested in the subject matter.

This program covers 3 locations in the Northeast Corridor: Perryville, MD; Elizabeth, NJ; and Hoboken, NJ.

The Perryville segment covered Amtrak's HHP-8s and AEM-7s on the Northeast Regional trains as well as Genesis locomotives on the long-distance runs.

The Elizabeth segment covered Amtrak's Acela Express and a few Northeast Regional trains as well as NJ Transit commuter trains.

The Hoboken segment covered NJ Transit commuter trains only.

This program definitely could have improved if there were time stamps for each train similar to Hot Spots 1-10 and Hot Spots 13-15 as well as the date each segment was filmed, although the Elizabeth segment was mentioned as being filmed in February 2002. This program also could have been improved had the long-distance trains in Perryville and Elizabeth been identified by their name since the NE Corridor is an Amtrak hot spot. In addition, extra narration could have improved this program much more.

Additional remarks by Nikhil Murthy:
Narration: Could have used more.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Excellent!
DVD Value:: Fair.

After about 10 minutes I was bored with the same location and the same type of electric units, it was more like a number taking exercise to see if all the class run could be seen. Last 15 minutes better as diesel hauled/propelled trains appeared. Perhaps I should have checked out the area first, but expected something different.

Additional remarks by UK Phil:
Narration: There was no narration.
