VIA Rail Canada's "The Canadian". There is no journey on earth quite like it. Doug Jones takes us on the journey across the land that is as beautiful as it is diverse. Although the ride on the Canadian officially starts in Toronto Ontario, a visit to Montreal Quebec takes place first. Following the route of the Canadian National Railway, the Canadian leaves Toronto traveling through northern Ontario's wilderness on to Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Jasper, and eventually Vancouver and Victoria. A thing to note is that this video although is a train video, it is not really a railfan video. It is a video designed to attract tourism for "the Canadian", and the cities it stops in. A fair amount of time in the video is spent sightseeing at the various stops along the way. While I believe that many viewers will enjoy the video, remember that there is a lot of time along the rails missed. And there are some added features that you would not expect on train video. Over all, definitely recommended, remember it is made for the tourist in us.
