This program chronicles the history of these glamorous railroad sightseeing cars, from Burlington's 1945 Silver Dome to full-length models operating today in Canada and Alaska. Narrated by Michael Gross.
Archival film footage shows many famous trains that operated dome cars. They include the Empire Builder, Super Chief, North Coast Limited, Daylight, Capitol Limited, Denver Zephyr, City of Los Angeles, Canadian - and perhaps the most famous of all, The California Zephyr.
Rounding out the documentary are interviews with seasoned travelers, plus spectacular images of present day dome cars on a variety of dinner and cruise trains - including the newest "Bi-level" domes used in Alaska and Canada.

Very short video, and hardly worth the price at that. Much of the footage can be be seen in other videos by RK Publishing.
Additional remarks by Eric Thayer: Narration:Just enough. Would kids enjoy this?I doubt it. Image quality:A little rough around the edges. DVD Value:Overpriced for the amount of enjoyment I got out of it. Recommend to others? Not unless they REALLY were interested in the subject matter.

The program was good, but the video was terribly short considering what I paid for it.
