Conrail Vol 4 - Indianapolis to St. Louis on DVD by Green Frog

Conrail hosts plenty of foreign power in this action video. This video highlights operations along The Big Four. The Big Four was originally named the Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinnati and St. Louis (for the four cities it went through).

The New York Central took it over in order to gain access to Western operations. We'll visit places such as Terre Haute, Indiana, Effingham, Illinois, Greencastle, Indiana, Avon, Indiana and East St. Louis, Illinois. We'll also take you on an exciting tour of the manufacturing operations of Wabash National the builders of the RoadRailers.

This video highlights other railroads that cross Conrail as well, such as: Illinois Central, Union Pacific, Burlington Northern, Norfolk Southern and CSX. We'll visit an ex-Conrail tower in East St. Louis, now run by Gateway Eastern. This video highlight lots of night time action at Effingham and Terre Haute. This video has everything a railfan could ask for...mainline freights, passenger trains and several other interesting aspects of railroading including stone bridges and Sperry Rail Service equipment. Green Frog did a great job touring the St. Louis line. Additionally, there are several different railroads that make an appearance. BN, UP, and CSX to name a few. Also there are several paint schemes found on Conrail trains. Engines from UP, SP, CNW, BN, Cotton Belt, Rio Grande, CSX and LMS are all observed pulling Conrail trains. This was a great study of mainline railroading and a great look back at Conrail. CSX took over this portion of the line following the breakup of Conrail between CSX and NS. There is no doubt about it- this video is worth every cent!
