just watched these this afternoon and these were some interesting videos classic burlington northern vol.1 looks at the footage from photographer fred crissey who captured the bn during the late 1970s and 80s with his 8-millimeter movie film camera that c vision has shared with the public the burlington northern was a product of a 1970 merger of four different railroads which include the great northern northern pacific Spokane Portland & Seattle and the chicago burlington & Quincy in this video fred shares the footage he captured in the states of Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Illinois, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas you'll see many bn trains in action across locations such as wind river canyon bozeman and mullen pass and footage fred got while taking a ride in one of chicago's metra commuter trains when the bn was using their e-9 units for the power on these commuter trains until they were retired in 1992 the video than finishes following a merchandise train on the Colorado & southern railroad between Trinidad Colorado and Dalhart Texas this is quit a unique video showing the bn in the past with those glossy cascade green & black loco's putting on a show this is one video for anyone who grew up or is a fan of the bn

I watched both volumes of Classic Burlington Northern and enjoyed them a lot. They cover most of the BN system and the equipment used in the 1970's and 1980's. I am glad that Fred Crissey documented all this and that C. Vision Productions made it available on DVD. Many scenes are from beautiful locations and enhance the experience of watching BN doing its job. Volume 1 is 97 minutes and Volume 2 is 84 minutes but there is not a dull moment. If you are fan of BN you will certainly appreciate Classic Burlington Northern - I did!
