This is the first LCRV video I have purchased and I was VERY impressed! The sound and video quality are superb, and the use of multiple camcorders ensures that no view or opportunity that presents itself goes un-captured.

At first glance, it may seem like a two-hour video that encompasses roughly only ten miles of mainline would get tedious, but this is NOT the case with this video! While the west slope of Cajon Pass typically gets all the glory and attention, the short stretch on the east side between Frost and Oro Grande is ripe with video and photo opportunities, from farm fields to desert, from canyons to urban/industrial settings, this stretch of mainline has it all, and this video captures it all. The few well-known views of this area are indeed included, and expanded upon greatly. New areas are also explored in detail, and new views are in abundance. Prior to viewing this video, I simply had no idea how much this area had to offer!

The action is also heavy. There are numerous perfect meets that will leave you wondering if the videographer was somehow controlling the trains himself, a-la a model railroad, and the dual-camera system he uses are put to great advantage during these moments.

I rate this video very highly, and while it is my first LCRV title, it'll certainly not be my last!

This was likewise my first purchase from LCV. But I had seen some of his samplers on the Trainorders site. The Frost through the Upper and Lower Mojave River Narrows has always been a favorite locale for train watching with numerous excellent locations. Even though this production does not have a narration the dates, times and train symbols are shown. The photography and sound are excellent and its best feature is the time compression of days and hours brought to the dvd. I call this a classic train watching tape as compared to a narrated production. I was not disappointed at all and will watch for additional productions. Some shots were set-up in unusual ways. For example I never realized that the big steel steam-era steel bridges over the lower narrows actually have hewn rock piers. This dvd is particularly relaxing as the parade of trains and locations unfolds.
