BC Rail - North Vancouver to Prince George DVD Train Video![]() Click to enlargeNote: Cover image may differ from actual product This trip was the fulfillment of a long time personal ambition. We started at the yard at North Vancouver with a rebuilt RS18 and worked our way along the main line to Prince George. We got a brief look at the Royal Hudson along Howe Sound, then concentrated on the freights which are mostly led by the C40-8CM cowls, which we thought were handsome units. The scenery was just magnificent, especially the Fraser Canyon north of Lillooet, making for some stunning views of the trains clinging to the mountainside. We were thrilled to find a pair of C-420's switching at Prince George, and couldn't resist a quick trip to Tacheeda to catch CN handing a coal train over to the electrics This is a fascinating and unique railroad, you'll Iike it as much as we did. |

This was a pretty good dvd overall with good footage of BC rail in its, i guess you could say fading days. I primarily purchased this dvd because there was a picture of a GF6C on the cover and i assumed there would be a decent amount of coverage of the Tumbler sub. Sadly I was wrong and there are only about 5 minutes of tumbler sub action. Trainguy (Grande Prairie, Alberta) on 2012-04-08 23:49:16.
Lots of action with Distributive Power. flute player on 2010-06-29 17:53:50.
If you're a model railroader looking for new and different ideas this is a must have. There is so much on this video on train operations and the scenery the railroad travels through you can a learn a lot from this video. The BC RAIL has been called "the uncommon carrier" and this video shows it BC Rail has something for everyone.. The only thing that was a real downer on this video was they did not show very much of the locomotive swap with the electric locomotive on Tumbler sub division they could of show a lot more! This a very good video on BC Rail |
