A Day at Niles California DVD TGSLocated in the hills to the east of San Francisco Bay, the Niles District of Fremont, California, is a busy local hot spot for train watching. The area known as Niles Junction is where Union Pacific's Niles, Oakland, and Warm Springs Subdivisions converge, and sees numerous freight and passenger trains throughout the day.
On May 20, 2008, TSG Multimedia's cameras filmed every train that came through Niles Junction from morning until late in the afternoon.
This video shows each train in its entirety!
In addition to regular Union Pacific freight trains, there is the BNSF Warm Springs Local being pulled by an ex-Santa Fe warbonnet, a Union Pacific local that appears several times taking different routes through the junction, the Amtrak Coast Starlight, as well as Amtrak California Capitol and Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) trains.
Join us for a look at this busy railroad hot spot as we spend a day at Niles!
