Located north of Sacramento, California, the city of Marysville is the site of Binney Junction, where two busy Union Pacific mainlines cross. Union Pacific’s Sacramento Subdivision, a former Western Pacific route, runs from Stockton to Oroville. The Valley Subdivision is the former Southern Pacific line from Roseville to Dunsmuir. BNSF trains also come through Binney, exercising trackage rights over the UP.
